We keep this information for 24 months after your last request or call, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. Records that show you agreed to be contacted may be kept longer so we can prove that consent.

We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not collect sensitive personal information as the CCPA defines it.

What We Collect and Where It Comes From

  • From you. When you fill out the request form or call the number on this website, you give us your contact details and information about your vehicle and the repair you need.
  • Automatically. When you visit the website, our servers and the tools we use record technical data such as your IP address, browser type, pages viewed and the link that brought you here.
  • From call handling. The company that routes our calls tells us whether a call was connected and how long it lasted.

How We Use Personal Information

  • To connect your call or request with a local auto repair shop in Los Angeles.
  • To contact you about your request, when you have agreed to that (see TCPA Consent).
  • To confirm which calls and requests were connected, which is how Copperline is paid.
  • To run, protect and improve the website, and to prevent spam and fraud.
  • To meet legal obligations and to respond to lawful requests from authorities.

How Your Request Reaches a Repair Shop

When you call or send a request, you are asking us to connect you with a local auto repair shop. To do that, we, or the company that routes our calls, pass your call or your contact details and request to a repair shop or to the advertiser that handles calls for that shop. This disclosure happens at your direction, to provide the service you asked for.

The repair shop is an independent business. It uses your information under its own privacy practices, and Copperline does not control how it does so. How Copperline is paid is explained in our Referral & Advertiser Disclosure.

Service Providers

We use service providers to run this website and the service: website hosting, email delivery, call routing and tracking, and form processing. They may use personal information only to provide their services to us and must protect it.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

This website currently uses only the cookies it needs to work, for example to protect the request form from spam. We do not use advertising cookies. If we add analytics or advertising tools, we will update this policy and show a cookie notice that lets you make choices.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information. Because there is no common standard for "Do Not Track" signals, we rely on GPC instead.

Your California Privacy Rights

If you live in California, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it and to whom we disclosed it.
  • Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Correct personal information that is inaccurate.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. See Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.
  • Not be discriminated against for using any of these rights.

To make a request, use our contact page. Tell us the phone number or email address you used with us so we can find your information. We will confirm your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days. If we need more time, we will tell you why, and we may extend the period by another 45 days.

We verify requests by matching the details you give us with the information we hold. You can use an authorized agent; we may ask the agent for proof that you gave permission and may ask you to confirm your identity directly.

California residents may also ask whether we disclosed personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing in the past year. We do not make such disclosures.

Children

This website is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information. No website or transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
